Ms. Bowjangles, designed by Anna Boch and David Engelhorn for Ingo Maurer in 2023, takes its name from its characteristic arch: a spring steel rod sheathed in a coloured textile rope, orange or olive green, that curls effortlessly around an elegant black metal shade. It looks as if the shade is held in place by nothing but the twists of the rope, an asymmetrical line full of movement.
The wall version needs no base: a black clamp mount holds the arch on the wall, where it slides up or down and turns to put the light exactly where it is needed. The shade swivels to direct the warm LED beam, and a touch sensor at the top of the rope switches and dims the light.
