Ms. Bowjangles Tall, designed by Anna Boch and David Engelhorn for Ingo Maurer in 2023, recalls the magic trick known as 'Stiff Rope', in which a soft textile rope turns rigid as if by magic and carries objects. Here an orange or olive green rope swings up in a wide, airy arch and winds around a large black metal shade, all clear lines and curves.

The wall version needs no base: a black clamp mount holds the arch on the wall, where it slides and turns to place the light where it is needed. A downlight in the shade and an additional uplight give plenty of warm light, even in large rooms, and a foot dimmer in the cable switches and dims the lamp.
