Ernesto Gismondi (1931–2020) was an Italian aerospace engineer who co-founded Artemide in 1960 and led it into one of the world's most influential lighting companies. As a designer, he brought an engineer's clarity to every lamp: pure geometric forms, careful control of glare and a focus on the quality of light. His pieces here include the Miconos glass pendants, ceiling and wall lights, the Nur family and the Ilio floor lamp, along with in-ground outdoor lights.
