I Ricchi Poveri - Five Butterflies, by Ingo Maurer (2014), belongs to the poetic I Ricchi Poveri family. A bare bulb rises on a slender, gently curving brass rod from a small anthracite base plate, and five handmade insect models flutter around it as if drawn to the light. The edition is limited to 200 pieces, with the serial number engraved on the rod's mounting bolt.
The lamp now carries an ambient dim-to-warm LED that glows softly from all sides and warms in tone as it is dimmed, like an old filament bulb. A transformer with a sliding dimmer sets the brightness and switches the lamp on and off.
