Gem Ceiling Light sets Foscarini's faceted glass globe directly against the ceiling. Designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba in 2017, the cased glass is mouth-blown into an engraved mould and acid-etched, leaving a pattern of intersecting waves that recalls the cut facets of a gemstone and keeps the lamp striking even when it is off.
When lit, the reliefs break the light into soft rings and gradients across the satin glass, filling the room with an even glow. The close-to-ceiling mount makes it a decorative focal point that still works in rooms with low ceilings, such as bedrooms, hallways, living rooms and dining areas.
