Bit 2 is the smallest shape in Ferruccio Laviani's Bit family, designed in 1993 as part of an alphabet of organic glass forms to be grouped freely on a wall. Its soft oval diffuser in coated glass is fixed to the wall by a single round metal boss, with the lamp tucked out of sight behind it.
Unlit it reads as a flat graphic accent; lit, the light escapes around the edges and the glass glows like a fragment of mosaic. Mix it with the other Bit shapes or use it alone beside a bed or along a hallway. It plugs in on a transparent cord with an inline switch, so no new wiring is needed.
Foscarini
Founded in 1981 on the Venetian island of Murano, Italy, the Foscarini brand brand began its operations by creating lamps for the contract sector. Over the years, the company has been experimenting with new techniques and materials, resulting in many prestigious awards for its innovation and placing the brand on the map as one of the leading brands in modern lighting. Foscarini’s wide range of products include both home décor lamps and special custom designs that perfectly complement hotels, restaurants, and other residential and commercial interiors.
