Mid-Century Modern Chandeliers

Mid-century modern chandeliers take their shapes from 1950s and 1960s design: sputnik bursts, branching arms tipped with glass globes, and radiating clusters of exposed bulbs. They give a dining room, living room or entry a strong focal point with a lighter, more playful feel than a traditional chandelier. Over a dining table, choose a diameter about half to two-thirds the width of the table and hang it about 30 to 36 inches above the surface; in a foyer, allow at least 7 feet of clearance below.
