Walking In The Rain, created by Ingo Maurer & Team in 2017, is a large, sculptural light object that stands in the room like a figure on two red feet. Three overlapping sheets of Japanese paper form a cloak, inspired by traditional Japanese raincoats woven from straw, which explains the impression of a figure with feet and a head.
As with every piece in the MaMo Nouchies collection, the paper is shaped by hand in Dagmar Mombach's workshop through several elaborate steps, and an especially large amount of it is used here. Two LED modules, dimmable separately, glow behind the paper layers with a warm, soft light close to that of incandescent bulbs. It is a friendly presence in any room.
