Tubular Balance, designed by Sebastian Hepting with the Ingo Maurer Team in 2021, is the table version of the filigree Tubular family. A long tube of unprocessed borosilicate glass holds a line of LED points strung like a pearl necklace, while a loose textile cable wraps around it in a lively contrast to its linear form. It needs no ceiling outlet: the tube hangs on a thin cable, balanced by a weighted base, and simply plugs into a socket.
The glass tube rotates a full 360 degrees in its rope loop, so the light can be aimed down onto a desk or turned toward the wall or ceiling for soft indirect light. A dimmer in the cable sets the mood, at home over a desk, kitchen counter or bar, in a studio, restaurant, hotel or boutique.
