Tartan Ceiling Light is a globe of mouth-blown glass whose surface is crossed by fine raised lines and folds, a pattern that recalls the woven checks of the Scottish fabric it is named after. Ludovica and Roberto Palomba designed it for Foscarini in 2015, and the acid-etched finish gives the glass a soft, satin look whether the lamp is on or off.
Mounted directly on the ceiling, it throws light downward while the reliefs create a graphic play of light and shadow and a gentle glow around the room. Its compact, close-to-ceiling profile suits rooms with lower ceilings, from bedrooms and hallways to living and dining areas.
Foscarini
Founded in 1981 on the Venetian island of Murano, Italy, the Foscarini brand brand began its operations by creating lamps for the contract sector. Over the years, the company has been experimenting with new techniques and materials, resulting in many prestigious awards for its innovation and placing the brand on the map as one of the leading brands in modern lighting. Foscarini’s wide range of products include both home décor lamps and special custom designs that perfectly complement hotels, restaurants, and other residential and commercial interiors.Tartan Ceiling Light is a globe of mouth-blown glass whose surface is crossed by fine raised lines and folds, a pattern that recalls the woven checks of the Scottish fabric it is named after.
