Mozzkito, designed by Ingo Maurer in 1996, is a light that seems to hover like an insect. A single fine wire rises from a small, movable base plate and carries a low-voltage halogen-style reflector head ringed with thin metal spikes, so the lamp reads more like a drawing in space than a piece of furniture.
The tilt of the whole lamp changes simply by moving the base plate, and the head itself can be adjusted to aim the light where it is needed. Made of metal, plastic and rubber, Mozzkito runs on an MR16 reflector bulb, works with LED retrofit lamps, and is dimmed with a slider on the cable.
