A cup, a spoon, light. Light au Lait, designed in 2004 by Fabien Dumas with Ingo Maurer and Team, plays with familiar objects and gives them a new purpose. A stoneware cup sits on a stoneware saucer mounted to the wall, and a ball joint lets the cup turn and tilt so the light falls exactly where it is wanted.
The stainless steel spoon hanging below is the switch: a gentle tug turns the light on or off. Witty, poetic and surprisingly natural in form, this small lighting object belongs in kitchens, cafés, restaurants and anywhere else where light is allowed to be a little unexpected.
