Fly Candle Fly!, created by Georg Baldele and Team in 1996, makes real candles float in mid-air. A slender white wax candle hangs on a fine suspension rope from a small ceiling hook, so its living flame seems to hover freely in the room, with no candlestick or holder in sight.
Hung singly over a table or gathered by the dozen at different heights, the candles create a scene of quiet magic, from intimate dinners to festive halls. A transparent drip catcher clipped to each candle keeps the wax in check, and every candle burns for about 20 hours.
