Eclipse Ellipse, designed by Ingo Maurer in 2017, is a play of light and shadow made for the wall. Switch it on and a composition of an ellipse and circles appears around a large steel and aluminium disc, while the lamp also gives off a pleasant, indirect light.
The owner becomes the co-creator: both the tilt of the large disc and the position of the small magnetic light element can be changed, so the image on the wall is never fixed. As in many of his pieces, Ingo Maurer leaves plenty of room for personal imagination, combining artistic expression with functional light on a single wall.
