Chouchin takes its rounded, generous form from the traditional paper lanterns of Japan. Ionna Vautrin translated that lantern into mouth-blown glass, and the Chouchin 3 is the widest and lowest of the family: a soft, cushion-like diffuser that sits close to the ceiling, finished underneath with a slim coloured rim.
The white glass gives an even, warm glow across the room while the open bottom sends a brighter pool of light downward. It comes in the Reverse finish with a grey rim or the all-white Bianco version, and at under ten inches tall it works well in bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and bathrooms away from direct spray.
