The Copernico 500 Suspension Lamp is a futuristic lighting system that mesmerizes the onlookers with its cosmic charm. A part of the Artemide's Copernico series by, it was designed by Carlotta de Bevilacqua and Paolo Dell'Elce in 2012. The design of this lamp is inspired by 'The Copernican Model' of a sun-centered solar system. It features seven concentric circles made from a single laser-cut anodized aluminum sheet that supports a circuit of 384 white LED lights. Each circle rotates independently over two axes, which leads to the formation of several spatial configurations. With the help of jointed segments of copper contacts, the power lines are able to run between the ellipses that form the basic structure of the lamp; enabling the ellipses to rotate freely over a complete 360 Degree angle. Moreover, the painted aluminum and PCB construction of this luminaire makes it lightweight and compatible. The mobile design along with a low voltage LED light source helps the users in conveniently installing the light as well as modulating the light flow as desired. Not to miss, a homogeneous isotropic emission spreading in all directions promises a great lighting experience. To complement varied decor settings, the Copernico 500 Suspension Lamp is offered in Polished Red and Polished White finishes. When off or closed, the fixture becomes completely flat.
